Christkindlmarkt

Perform at the Markt

Carolers, brass bands, dancers and strolling acts are what turn the Markt from a market into an evening out.

Ferdinand, Indiana

What to Expect

A quick overview of the Markt and what performing here looks like, before you tell us about your act.

About the Markt

The Ferdinand Christkindlmarkt is a German-style Christmas market held across several venues in Ferdinand, Indiana. It runs Friday through Sunday in late November, admission is free, and it draws visitors from across the tri-state area.

What we are looking for

Live music, carolers, dance groups, theatrical and strolling acts that suit a traditional Christmas market. German, Alpine and classic holiday repertoire is especially welcome, but any act that fits the atmosphere will be considered.

Performance slots

Most sets run 30 to 45 minutes, scheduled across the weekend at indoor and outdoor stages. The committee assigns slots and venues once the full line-up is known, balancing the schedule across all three days.

What we provide

A performance space, listing on the Markt schedule and website, and shared promotion across our social channels. Some venues have a house sound system; tell us on the form what you need and we will confirm what is available.

What you provide

Your own instruments, costumes and any equipment your act relies on. Outdoor stages are exposed to winter weather, so please plan your set and your gear for the cold.

Compensation

Many acts perform as a community contribution, and some are paid from the entertainment budget. Tell us on the form whether you expect compensation and what you have in mind, and the committee will be straight with you about what is possible.
